Harry Maguire, a defender for Manchester United, has responded to statements made by Isaac Adongo, a member of parliament for Bolgatanga East Constituency in Ghana, after the latter apologized on the floor of parliament.
He was a burden to Manchester United, much as Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia was to the Ghanaian economy, according to Hon. Adongo, who had previously equated the “competence” of the vice president to that of the England international.

“I NOW AGREE…Currently, McGuire is a transformative football player who has turned the corner.

The MP has praised the #MUFC defender for improving his form, months after Issac Adongo ridiculed him in the Ghanaian parliament.

His remarks concerned Maguire’s decline in form in comparison to his World Cup success in 2018, which led the Red Devils to sign him.

Hon. Adongo, who has consistently criticized the current administration and the handling of the economy, quickly withdrew his criticism of Maguire, recognizing that the center back had “turned the corner” and returned to his previous level of play, in contrast to the Vice President, who is now the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer ahead of the 2024 elections in Ghana.

Maguire commented on X (formerly Twitter) “MP Issac Adongo apology accepted,” expressing his satisfaction with Mr. Adongo’s apology. I’ll see you shortly at Old Trafford.

After a few outstanding performances recently, including a game-winning goal against FC Copenhagen in the UEFA Champions League a few weeks ago, Maguire—who was all but an outcast for Manchester United at the start of the season—seems to have won over manager Erik ten Hag.
